Oh deer, oh deer, oh deer?...what a weekend!

Dakota with daddy and his 1st doe!

Dylan with daddy and his 1st doe!
8 point buck and all the boys...it was a team hunt!
Best boys and the 8 point buck!

This past weekend we went to the deer lease to get a break from life:) and Rich was there with his 2 boys Coby and Landry. The boys hit it off and played together all weekend! On Saturday afternoon Rich and his boys were headed out from camp to go the there deer stand. Rody headed into the camper to get ready to go out to and Rich calls him on his phone? He answers and Rich says "grab your rifle there is a big buck here in the field next to the campsite. If I get out and get my gun he will run away!" So Rody jumps up and grabs his gun and heads that way. He gets over there and he sees it but is hesitant because he feels guilty shooting it since Rich found it. So he looks at Rich and he motions to shoot! So Rody aimed and pulled the trigger! Down he went and all the boys got to be part of it! They all were so pumped up they could hardly contain themselves:) The next morning Rody, Dakota and Dylan headed to the "hilton" deer stand whiled Drake and I stayed in bed:) Rody had told Dakota that since he was the oldest that he would get to shoot 1st and then he told Dylan if anymore come in that he will get his chance. Well, they were hanging out in the stand and Rody happens to look out the side window and sees 8 doe come out from the thicket. He helps Dakota get the rifle ready and told him to pick one. Dakota aims and fires, hits her! She drops right there! Then, Rody notices that the others do not leave? They just hang around like nothing happened. So he get the gun and hands it to Dylan he aims pulls the trigger, NOTHING! Dakota forgot to reload. So they reloaded and the does were still there. So Dylan pulls the gun up, aims and fires! She took off running but the boys thought that he had hit her. So they ran out there and check out Dakota's deer. Dylan started searching for blood and found one drop on a leaf (all that arrowhead hunting has paid off!) so an hour later after they scared her up a couple times, they got a 2nd shot and she went down! By this time Drake and I are up and helping search so it was an awesome family memory!

Priceless Memories.....

My family had the honor of having my grandpa dear come and visit from Kansas. I know that it was hard for him to make the drive to come here and see us, but none the less he felt that is was important to come and see our lives here:) What an Honor!! He got here on a Saturday afternoon and we showed him around the property. He was really impress with the place and all the work that we had done. I loved watching him walk around looking at the soil, the plants and all the terrain. He loves to take walks enjoying what God has created. He has lived on the same wheat farm his entire life. My grandparents took over the farm from his family many years ago and has harvested wheat up until he retired a few years ago. My grandpa has always been a man that I respected and honored his choices in life. My grandpa is the one that always said the prayer at every meal and truly has tried to live his life according to God's will. I know that His time left here is short and to know that he spend a little bit of it with us is priceless.

The rest of the halloween pics

Happy Birthday Nate!

Trick or treating at Drake's teacher Mrs. Morgan's house...

One more pic of the chipmunks :)

5th grade field trip

We went on a field trip yesterday to Aquarena Springs in San Marcos. It was alot of fun..we got to go on a nature walk, played a few outdoor games, built bracelets out of cat tails, and got to ride on a glass bottom boat. But, the best thing about the whole trip is that Aunt Darcy met us there and got to be there with us:)

Dylan also went on a field trip to Washington on the Brazos with his gifted and talented class. The parents were not allowed to go. So I do not have any pictures. He had a great time and came home with some souvenirs from his day!

Happy Halloween from Alvin and the chipmunks

So I think this is the last year that I am going to be able to theme dress the boys for Halloween. I barely pulled it off this year! We went trick or treating in Giddings with our friends the Hendrix's. Of course I was running late to get them there and I grabbed the camera without the card in it! So as soon as I get the pics from Veronica I will get them posted too. The boys filled up there candy bags in a matter of 20 minutes. After that we went to the Giddings homecoming game. They won!
